Welcome to Kingfisher Class!

Hello and welcome to Kingfisher Class. Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Butler support the learning in Year 2.  The children focus on English and Maths in the mornings linked to their topic work.  We have lots of exciting topics like 'Everything is Awesome'!

Year 2 is an important time for preparation for KS2 and we aim to give the children all the skills they need in order to succeed when they leave our school, whilst at the same time making learning fun and inspiring.

Phonics Workshop for parents & carers

Thank you to all of the parents and carers that attended the workshop in school. If you were unable to attend, but would be interested in an early evening workshop then please come and let us know. If we have enough interest, we will hold a second session.

Below is the PowerPoint Presentation we shared during the morning, with lots of great information to help you support your child with reading and writing.

PE Days

Kingfisher Class will have PE on Monday and Wednesday this term.   Please make sure they have their full kit in school every day as we sometimes have a change of day at short notice.  The children also need to have daps or trainers this term as their games lessons will be outdoors! Hopefully the sun will be shining! Please make sure that all their items are named.

Parent Reading Mornings

On Tuesdays the children have a reading session as they come in to school at 8.50am.  You are welcome to come in with your child and share their book with them in class.  The session will finish at 9.05 am.

Can you help out by hearing the children read?

Even if you can't come weekly all help is gratefully accepted.

Just let us know when you are free!

Volunteers

All help is gratefully received whether you can help from home or come into school. There is always things to make , print and laminate. If you have a special skill don't hide your talent. Come and share it with the children.
